| Description: | Location: Wilbur Cross High School THINK GLOBAL. RUN/WALK LOCAL. RUNNERS AND WALKERS, start your Super Bowl festivities early with a fun-filled event that raises funds and awareness for the thousands of refugees who have settled in Connecticut. Support your favorite team with jerseys and costumes. *5K Run & Walk (10:00 AM start)*The challenging certified course runs through picturesque East Rock Park. The first half of the course is uphill and the second half is downhill.T-shirts: Given to all participants. Additional Information : Post-Race Party: After the race, enjoy a warm indoor post-race party at Wilbur Cross High School, with fabulous international food & beverages, and live entertainment. Raise money for IRIS! Raise $100 or more and your entry fee is waived Raise $250 and earn a place on the Run for Refugees Team: Team photo with refugee runners, Technical T shirt, Goody bag of prizes and gift certificates, Entry fee waived Prizes awarded to the top 3 Fundraisers: Miyas Sushi gift certificates and more!Dress Up and Win: The best individual and group costumes win a case of Honest Tea and a gift certificate to Archie Moores. Awards: Given to first 3 finishers in each age division. 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ and Wheelchair. Amenities T-shirts to all participants.
