Hebron Maple Festival

Back in 190- Selden Wells, owner of the Wells Sugar House, decided to do a fundraiser to benefit the Hebron Library. His idea was to have a "sugar on snow" gathering at his house, which resulted in an unexpected and excited crowd of maple loving people. He then contacted the other local sugar houses and organized the first Hebron Maple Festival. The event has been run by a very dedicated group of volunteers for the last quarter of a century. Since 2016 The Chamber of Commerce, Inc, Windham Region recognizing the value of this event to the local businesses and nonprofits agreed to become the event organizers.

The event brings in people from all over including the states of VT, ME, NH, MA, PA, NY, and NJ. We have thousands of visitors each year. Only three times in our history we have had to cancel the event because of seriously inclement weather. The event is held rain, snow or shine! (Unless there are blizzard conditions) If there is a cancellation it will be announced on our Facebook page and on this website. Please dress appropriately. If you are visiting the sugarhouses you should wear warm, water resistant clothing and boots. The areas often get wet and muddy.

There will be maple syrup and maple products available at the information booth to purchase. The proceeds go to help cover the costs of the festival. We accept credit cards for these sales.

We hope to see you all in March! It is a great time for those who love maple syrup and who will always be kids at heart licking the syrup remains from our pancake plates. :)
